Providing virtual therapy in PA, NY, and FL (NJ coming soon!)

Restoring Wholeness Through Cultural Resilience

The Restoration Chamber was founded on the belief that healing is about more than reducing symptoms—it's about restoring connection to yourself, your story, and your sense of purpose.

Healing should honor every part of who you are. Your culture, identity, lived experiences, and strengths shape your journey, and they deserve a place in the healing process.

There are plenty of therapists who will teach you how to cope.

I want to help you understand why you cope the way you do.

Together, we'll move beyond managing symptoms to explore the experiences, beliefs, and patterns beneath them. Through culturally rooted, trauma-informed, evidence-based care, my goal is to help you create lasting healing—not just temporary relief.

I believe healing happens when people feel safe enough to be fully known.

This isn't a space where you have to perform wellness. It's a space where you can finally exhale.

Because healing isn't about becoming someone new.

It's about restoring the strength, wisdom, and wholeness that have always been within you.

The Heart of the Restoration

Vanessa Chambers, MSW, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker | Trauma-Informed Specialist | EMDR trained

Founder, Owner

Let's get real for a minute:  You deserve a space where you don't have to explain your humanity before you can begin healing.

As a first-generation American raised in a Black Jamaican household and a first-time mom, I understand how identity, culture, and life experiences shape mental health. Conversations around emotions and mental health and mental illness were taboo in my community, and struggling with mental health was another thing. I prioritize the intersectionality of culture and mental health as sometimes our environments have created barriers to accessing wellness.

Living in New York for seven years deepened my understanding of identity, belonging vs. feeling othered, and resilience while navigating major life transitions and the challenges surrounding the pandemic. During that time, I completed training through The Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy's Gender & Sexuality Psychoanalytic Program, strengthening my work with LGBTQIA+ adults. Within the past 10 years in the field of social work, I have empowered families in child welfare, young adults reintegrating from incarceration, My background in dance/athletics, personal training, and lived experience with chronic illness have also shaped my approach to supporting body image, identity, and the connection between physical and emotional well-being.

Through an anti-oppressive lens, I intentionally hold space BIPOC adults, LGBTQIA+ individuals, current and former athletes, new parents, those living with chronic illness, and people navigating life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and empowering—with a bit of humor and a WHOLE lot of authenticity. I specialize in trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, body image concerns, identity exploration, parenting adjustments, and chronic illness, and I integrate EMDR alongside other evidence-based approaches tailored to each client's unique needs.

What can you expect from me as your therapist?

  • Someone who is dope, down-to-earth, bubbly, funny, and relatable.

  • Someone who will do a happy dance & say "YASSSSS" when celebrating ALL of your wins - big and small.

  • Someone who truly sees you as human and does not allow judgment within the therapeutic space (why? - because we're ALL human and it might already be hard enough to show up to therapy).

  • Someone who doesn't code switch when talking to show you it's okay to show up as your full, authentic self.

  • And someone who will challenge you, while being mindful and in tune with what you're bringing to the table and what your capacity is for that day.

EMDR Recovery: Restoring Your Inner Balance

When appropriate, I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help you process traumatic memories and integrate them into your life story, fostering lasting mental health support.

Through 8 phases, we will identify stuck areas in your healing journey and emotional processing, strengthen your coping skills and resources, reprocess and desensitize your response to negative thoughts and experiences while implementing new positive associations, and finally implant your new positive associations to future scenarios in your life.
